lyrics

The alarm goes off
roll out of bed, brush your teeth, brush your hair
dress yourself
Drink your coffee, eat your toast and eggs
it's time to go
Head to the car, buckle up and
put it in reverse
Turn on the radio station that plays that
same pop song
Take that route to work you know so well
it's left then right
Someone always seems to cut you off, so
flip them off
Arrive at work at nine
it's time to shine

work till 5
Back at home but something is pulling you
out the door
call up your friends seeing if they wanna
play all night
no one picks up, that's ok
you'd rather go by yourself
Next town over has an open mic
it's Monday night
pick up your guitar
it is time to shine

play two songs
to the drunks who don't know what the hell is
going on
suddenly you see a pair of eyes that
strikes/stops you blind
A half a smile that breaks you, makes you forget
all your night
got 5 seconds, make an impression and just
Swallow your pride
So try to buckle up cause
it's time to shine

Alarm goes off
